Events taken place

So far, the following have all raised fantastic amounts of money. We would like to thank you all for your efforts and helping to also raise awareness.

 

25th JulyGarden Party 2010

'Taylan's Gran and Grandad hold a Charity Garden Party'.

Taylan's Gran and Grandad Rawlinson wanted to help more and decided to hold a charity Garden Party in memory of their grandson inviting their nearest and dearest.  Their locals and friends pulled together donating raffle prizes, products, help, catering and support.  They had a really good day and raised a cracking £1,747! Thank you!!

 

25th July - Breakthrough London to Cambridge Bike Ride 2010

'The Enotria Wine pedallers do London to Cambridge'.

9 colleagues of Enotria Wines joined together to help raise money and awareness for brain tumours.  They took part in the London to Cambridge bike ride cycling 57 miles in memory of Taylan and for Brain Tumour Research.  So far, they have raised an incredible £6,002.00 plus £879.15 in Gift Aid!  Thank you lads.  You can still show your support by visiting their Justgiving page and donating on www.justgiving.com/enotriawinepedallers  See their photo's and outfits in 'Gallery'!

 

25th July - Breakthrough London to Cambridge Bike Ride 2010

18th July - Cycling around Poole Bay 2010

'Cycling for Taylan'.

Taylor Dart aged 7 decided to cycle 40 miles around Poole Bay in memory of his friend Taylan.  They used to attend the same nursery, ride their bikes and play football together so this challenge mean't a lot to Taylor.  He also mapped out his own route for his challenge and completed the ride in 3 hours and 28 minutes.  The ride was covered on the local radio station and the news.  Article  Originally, Taylor wanted to raise £150 but has managed to raise £2,155.70 plus £495.71 in Gift Aid!  The donations are still coming in.  See Taylor in 'Gallery' and please show your support by visiting his justgiving page and reading his story on www.justgiving.com/cyclingforTaylan  Well done Taylor and thank you!  Taylan would have been proud just like we all are.

 

10th July - Cycling the South Downs Way 2010

'Cycling for Taylan'.

Lance and Fergy completed their 105 miles off road cycle from Winchester to Eastbourne in a day, in memory of Taylan and for Brain Tumour Research.  12.5 hours, 15 hours in total, consuming gallons of water, numerous energy bars and some minor aches and pains.  They raised £1,535 plus £314.49 in Gift Aid.  You can still donate and read all about their challenge by visiting their justgiving page  www.justgiving.com/lance-fergy-cycle (Awaiting photo)Thanks guys!

 

16th June 2010 - Pheonix Cards

'Kay Breeden's Evening'.

Kay Breeden held a Pheonix Cards evening & mini raffle run by Julie Freeman on 16th June.  Julie kindly gave 15% commission on sales and Kay kindly passed on all of her commission to Taylan's Project which was a fab £90 towards the pot for research! Thanks Kay & Julie for all of your continued help & support but also to those who came along & supported the evening. The money raised would not have been possible without you.

 

6th June - 2010 Mazda Blenheim Triathlon

'Shane's Page'.

Shane Angus took part in the Blenheim Triathlon to raise funds and awareness for Brain Tumour Research and specifically Taylan's Project.  Despite the weather conditions, he completed the race in a cracking time of 1hr 36mins and raised £665 plus £183.33 in Gift Aid! 6th June - 2010 Mazda Blenheim Triathlon

'Stewart's Page'.

9th May 2010 - Balloon Race

'Taylan's Balloon Race'.

To mark what would have been Taylan's 8th birthday, we held a fun day for friends and family and released just under 800 balloons.  The furthest balloon travelled 53 miles to Pewsey, Wiltshire and was found on Taylan's birthday.  The winners have been notified.  The winner of the balloon was a 1 year old little boy and is looking forward to spending his vouchers and the founder has also been sent M&S vouchers.  Thank you to all of those who took part.

The fun day was incredible as the sun was shining, music was playing and the children were happy.  The sky was painted in green and blue and we managed to raise an incredible £3,199.17!!!  Thank you those who supported us and came along.  Some photo's in 'gallery' and more to follow.....

 

25th April - Virgin London Marathon 2010                  

'Running for Taylan'.

25th April - Mini London Marathon 2010

'Running for Taylan's Project'.

Jake Gooding aged 13, ran the Mini London Flora Marathon representing his district Bromley to help raise money and awareness.  He completed the mini marathon in a fantastic time of 20 mins and 2 secs raising £400 for Taylan's Project.  What a star! (see Jake's photo in 'gallery')

'Collection for Taylan's Project'.

Fosters EMEA of Twickenham had a collection throughout April to help raise money for Taylan's Project and they raised £104.85!  Thank you so much!

 

April 2010 - Sponsored Silence

'Jasmine Hughes refuses to talk!'.

Jasmine Hughes decided to do the impossible according to her family and undertake the biggest challenge ever!  She took part in a sponsored silence for 3 hours and raised £90.00 in memory of Taylan who she knew from school!  Thank you Jasmine and well done!

'Scrumptious cakes'

Taylan's gran and grandad have been working very hard baking, making and selling cakes in Surrey to help raise money.  They have raised over £580 already!  Thank you!!!

'March is brain tumour awareness month'.

March 2010 - Aloe Vera Night 

'Brain Tumour Awareness month'.

Sengul hosted an Aloe Vera evening to help raise vital funds for research and in memory of her nephew Taylan.  She raised a fantastic total of £230 throughout the night from product sales and a raffle.

 

Throughout February 2010 - Waitrose - Buckingham     

'Community Matters scheme'.              

Every month each Waitrose supermarket distributes £1,000 between three local projects.  Customers are then encouraged to vote for their preferred project by posting tokens into each project's box.  The £1,000 is then split in line with the vote proportionately. 

We are delighted to say Taylan's Project received the most votes and £440!  Please visit the gallery for photo's.

 

27th January 2010 - Book Sale - Usborne Books

'Charity Coffee Morning'.

Andrea Izzard from Usborne Books held a charity coffee morning to help raise funds and donated £40 from this event.  Thank you!!
