Showhome serves up festive treat in aid of charity

The following Press Release was issued at the beginning of December 2012 by Connect PR on behalf of Persimmon Homes Midlands.  Taylan's Project would like to thank Persimmon Homes for their continued support.

Visitors to a Buckinghamshire showhome will be served up a festive treat while they help raise funds for a well-known cause.

Leading housebuilder Persimmon Homes is hosting a ‘mulled wine and mince pies’ weekend in aid of Taylan’s Project which raises funds for Brain Tumour Research.

The event takes place from noon until 3pm on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 December at The Steeples development in the village of Calvert.

Claire Lambert, head of sales and marketing for Persimmon Homes (Midlands), said: “At Persimmon we like to support local groups and charities, as we become part of the close-knit local communities where we are working.

“We sponsored the Taylan’s Project community fun day in the summer, and wanted to do a little something more for this amazing cause.

“We are inviting everyone visiting the showhome to join us in the afternoons of that weekend for mulled wine and mince pies, with donations to the charity.”

Figen Rawlinson, charity founder and Taylan’s mum, said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for their continuous support and generosity.  They do not just build homes but genuinely care about the local community they are building in.”

The Steeples includes three and four bedroom homes, just 20 minutes from Buckingham or Bicester and 30 minutes from Aylesbury.

The beautifully designed properties are offered from just £163,960 for a three bedroom news house bought with the FirstBuy scheme, or for those looking for more space, a stunning four bedroom detached ‘Alder’ style family home with double garage is £329,950, with Part Exchange available.

Taylan’s Project was founded to raise funds for research into brain tumours, in memory of Taylan Rawlinson, who died aged seven from the condition.
